Have you been invited to a wedding? Then it would help if you read this article because we'll discuss color rules at a wedding. Yes, it's true! There is a particular protocol and a few rules that you must follow to be the perfect guest.

You've probably seen many guests wearing red, and maybe you've opted for a red dress, but wedding protocol forbids it. Being a color of seduction, known as the color of passion, red is understood to be provocative and associated with temptation, so in the wedding context, it can only be worn by the groom's sister, as she will be the only person present, apart from his mother, who would never provoke him.

So, if you've been invited to a wedding and were planning on wearing a dress in this color because it suits your eyes and/or skin color, opt for a coral or strawberry instead of a bright red.

Another forbidden color is black, even though it is a color that is often worn by guests who are not close to the bride and groom. The wedding is a day of celebration, joy, and light, and black is the opposite! The old-timers even say that anyone wearing black is taking a stand against the wedding, especially if it's someone close to the bride and groom, like the godmother or mother.

If you like dark colors, you can opt for midnight blue, chocolate brown, or graphite grey as an alternative to black.

Finally, white is the bride's sole and exclusive color, so wearing it to a wedding is completely forbidden. And those who say white mean colors very close to it, such as ivory, pearl, cream, or ecru. The only exception is if the bride and groom have a dress code stating that they want all guests to wear this color, which is different here.

If white suits you, you can wear dresses in hot pink, cloud gray, or aqua-green shades.
